Changing the date and time on newer Norstar systems

    1. A programming session may be initiated at any station, provided the phone model is one of the following types. This will change the date and time on all system phones. I strongly recommend printing this page prior making programming changes.

  1. Press “Feature ** 8463” (the display should read password.) Press “23646”
  2. The display should read “Hour: xx”. Press the key beneath “Change” in the display or press the key beneath “next” if the hour is correct. Enter the correct hour in 24 hour format.
  3. Press “next” the display reads “Minutes: xx.” Press the “change” key or press “next” if the minutes are correct. Enter the correct minutes.
  4. Press “next” the display reads “Year: xx.” Press “change” or press “next” if the year is correct. Enter the correct year.
  5. Press “next” the display reads “Month: xx” press the “change” key or press “next” if the month is correct. Enter the correct month.
  6. Press “next” the display reads “Day: xx.” Press “change” or press the “next” if the day is correct. Enter correct day.
  7. Press “next” the display reads “End of List”
  8. Press the “RLS” key or the small orange key with an arrow pointing down. The display will read “End of Session” and return to the date and time display.

  1. Press “Feature ** 266344” (the display should read password.) Press “23646”
    The display should read “Configuration”. At this point you will see 3 LCD indicators lit on the phone. From this point forward the indicator on the left side of the phone will be referred as “the bottom left key”.
    The indicator on the top right will be referred to as “the top right key” and the indicator on the bottom right will be the “bottom right key” WHEW!
  2. Press the “bottom right key” until the display reads “General Admin.”
  3. Press the “top right key” the display will read “Sys speed dial” Press the “bottom right key” until the display reads “Time and Date”
  4. Press the “top right key” the display will read “Hour” press the key beneath the word “change” or press the “bottom right key” if the hour is correct. Enter the hour on the dial pad. Press the “bottom right key” when finished. Repeat step 5 when the display reads “Minutes” or press the “bottom right key” if the minutes are correct.
  5. The display will read “AM” press the key beneath “change” or press the “bottom right key” if “AM” is correct or when finished.
  6. The display will read “Date” press the key beneath “change” or press the “bottom right key” if the date is correct. Enter the year on the dial pad. Press the “bottom right key” when finished.
  7. The display will read “month xx” press the key beneath “change” or press the “bottom right key” if the month is correct. Enter the month on the dial pad. Press the “bottom right key” when finished.
  8. The display will read “day xx” press the key beneath “change” or press the “bottom right key” if the day is correct. Enter the day on the dial pad. Press the “bottom right key” when finished.
  9. Press the “RLS” key or the small orange key with an arrow pointing down. The display will read “End of Session” and return to the date and time display.

    1. A programming session may be initiated at any station, provided the phone model has soft keys beneath the display. I strongly recommend printing this page prior making programming changes.

FAQ3

  1. Press “feature 983”. The display will read “Log”. The next step is dependant upon the length of your extension numbers. If you have 2 digit extensions enter “120000. 3 digit extensions enter 1020000. 4 digit extensions enter 10020000. If the display briefly reads “Invalid Password” follow step 3. If it reads Admin proceed to step 4.
  2. Press “feature 985” then “9” then press “73738767793” (resetsmpswd). Then press the key beneath “OK”. Next press the key beneath “YES” Repeat step 2.
  3. Press the key beneath “MBOX”
  4. Press the key beneath “CHNG” then enter the mailbox number to reset.
  5. Press the key beneath “RESET”
  6. Press “RLS”
  7. This resets the password to 0000. The user will be prompted to change their password when they log into their mailbox.

  1. All programming procedures must begin with this step.
  2. Press “feature 983”. The display will read “Log”. The next step is dependant upon the length of your extension numbers. To determine which table your greetings are assigned to.

  1. The display will read “GRTG TABLE LINES”; press the soft key beneath “LINES”.
  2. The display will read “Line number”; enter 001 (For line 1), press soft key beneath “OK”.
  3. The display will read “CHNG TABLE NEXT”; press the soft key beneath “TABLE”. The display will read “Line: 1 Table: x”.
  4. Now we have determined that the main line is using greetings in table x. Press the “*” key on the dial pad one time to move back in programming.

To determine when and where greetings are currently playing.

  1. The display will read “GRTG TABLE LINES”; press the soft key beneath “TABLE”, enter the table number determined in step 7, press the soft key beneath “OK”.
  2. The display will read “AA menu prompt”; press the soft key beneath “OK”.
  3. The display will read “Morning: x” (x represents current greeting), press the soft key beneath “PLAY” to listen to current greeting.
  4. The display will read “CHNG PLAY NEXT”; press the soft key beneath “NEXT” to continue for the afternoon greeting. Press “NEXT” once again for the evening greeting. Press “NEXT” again for the non-business greeting.
  5. Now we have determined which greeting is playing at specified times of day. Press the “*” key on the dial pad one time to move back in programming.

To record over an existing greeting. If recording a new greeting skip to step 17.

  1. Press the soft key beneath “GRTG”.
  2. Press the soft key beneath “GRTG” once again.
  3. The display will read “Greeting”; enter the number of desired greeting to record over. Press the soft key beneath “OK”. Press the soft key beneath “REC”; immediately upon hearing tone record your greeting then press the soft key beneath “OK” to end recording. Press the “RLS” key or the small orange key with an arrow pointing down to exit programming session.

To record a new greeting and assign to table.

  1. Press the soft key beneath “GRTG”.
  2. Press the soft key beneath “GRTG” once again.
  3. The display will read “Greeting”; enter the number of desired greeting to record. For Star Talk, Flash & Norstar Voicemail you will have greetings 1 thru 4 for table 1. For Call Pilot, depending on software version, you will have greetings 1 thru 99 for table 1.
  4. Once greeting number has been entered, the display will read “RETRY PLAY REC”; press the soft key beneath “REC”; immediately upon hearing tone record your greeting then press the soft key beneath “OK” to end recording.
  5. The display will read “Accept greeting”; press the soft key beneath “OK”.
  6. The display will read “GRTG TABLE LINES”; press the soft key beneath “TABLE”. The display will read “Grtg table”; enter table number 1 then press the soft key beneath “OK”.
  7. The display will read “AA menu prompt”; press the soft key beneath “OK”.
  8. The display will read “Morning: x”; (x represents the current greeting assigned to morning) press the soft key beneath “CHNG” if this is where the new greeting is to be placed. The display will read “Greeting”; enter the number of new greeting.
  9. The display will read “Morning”; press the soft key beneath “Next” to continue for “Afternoon”; repeat step 24.
  10. The display will read “Afternoon”; press the soft key beneath “Next” to continue for “Evening”; repeat step 24.
  11. The display will read “Evening”; press the soft key beneath “Next” to continue for “Non-Business”; repeat step 24.
  12. Press the “RLS” key or the small orange key with an arrow pointing down to exit programming session.
